Lenovo might be the first brand that comes to mind when you think ‘business laptop’, with their ‘Think’ series. Upon purchasing IBM’s computing business in 2005, Lenovo inherited ThinkPad, which already had a name in premium business computing. Lenovo has since established additional ranges such as 'ThinkBook' and 'V Series', which share DNA ThinkPad, but stand alone. This rich heritage has established Lenovo as a market leading supplier of business laptops.

Lenovo ThinkPad series

This is arguably both the first and final word in Lenovo business laptops – the one that started it all. ThinkPads have changed little over the years since their inception, with the first IBM model in 1992. The ThinkPad design language and quality construction has remained, through to the models of today. This commitment to quality results in the same promise of reliability from the budget 'E' series to the high-end 'X1'. Whichever you choose, Lenovo ThinkPad represents first class computing for your business.

Lenovo ThinkBook series

While the ThinkPad is the most instantly recognisable name in Lenovo business laptops, it has a smaller brother. The ThinkBook series provides reliable, quality business computing, at a lower cost. These laptops offer 90% of the ThinkPad experience, but at a much lower price of entry. They’re a great option for a smaller business or perhaps even for a home office!

The other option

Though not designed with business in mind, Lenovo IdeaPad Pro is a great choice for small business or home office! These laptops don't quite meet the standard of the Think series, but they're more than capable. The flipside to this is that they're available for a fraction of the cost. Lenovo IdeaPad Pro laptops might have less focus on enterprise and security but are ideal for dual-purpose use.

Is Lenovo good for office work?

ThinkPad might be overkill for basic office work, as almost any Lenovo will make short work of Word documents. However, for the ultimate in Office bragging rights, ThinkPad is the option for you! For getting things done without going over budget, ThinkBook or IdeaPad Pro will be fine.

Does Lenovo come with Microsoft Office?

Microsoft Office might be the standard, but we like to leave it up to you to choose what you need. There are lots of options, even from Microsoft, as to what features you want with your software. We also advocate for the free and open-source office software, such as LibreOffice.
